Head to. For one weekend only, Notting Hill way … let’s get these boys back
The Skinny. This weekend saw Jamie, Nikhil and Charlie, together with young chef Nye Smith host an evening of gastronomic festivities, biodynamic wine and the most delicious caramelised madeleines. It all started with sweet flecks of crab meat and celery butter smothered on toast. I could’a eaten 10 slices! A slow cooked egg yolk with nettle, potato and mushroom was a moreish combination of sludge (good sludge) and crunch. This was followed by perfectly grilled onions and an oozing piece of rocamandour cheese, and the onlget with garlic puree. Thank gaaad I was snoozing alone, as although totally delicious, the puree sure packed a punch. After trying just about every biodynamic wine on the menu, my evening finished with six little caramel-y madeleines These boys were open for one weekend only but word is that they’re planning another feast later this summer. Stay tuned for their next spot!

Head to. Harvey Nichols 5th Floor, London
The Skinny. My Minnesotan roots mean I rarely enjoy the British delicacy, the yorkshire pud, and would naat attempt to cook one myself. It’s bound to be a floppy, soggy disaster … but since Hereford & York pitched up just a couple blocks away at Harvey Nichols London, fifth floor food market, I’ll never have to.
H+Y pay homage to the British Roast and have resurrected the sacred Yorkshire, in a fancy, deliciously easy to eat wrap. Just select the rarest of roast beef, oak smoked salmon or sausages and enjoy tumbled together with horseradish cream and fiery english mustard – British Burrito style.

The Skinny. Ex-Fat Duck’s experimental Ross Clarke has nailed the ALL-AMERICAN brief, and as a regular Dirty Boner I’ve got my firm favourites. Standard order for me…no questions asked :: Asian Dawg loaded with crispy seaweed, oozing wasabi mayo and kimchi sauce. Actual smokin’ pickles served in a cute lil’ jar, a side of glazed and charred sweetcorn, slurping on a Negroni.
If you’re feeling WILD get nostalgic with the milk n’ cookies. Scooping up the milk ice cream brings back those childhood memories of ‘no dessert till you finish that milk’.
The music is groovy too.
